Description of Requirement
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, intends to award a sole source contract to Alvarez LLC, a verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), for the procurement of Vocera Smart Badges. This acquisition will be conducted under the NASA SEWP Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC).
This requirement is brand-name only and represents an upgrade to the existing Vocera communication system currently deployed at our facility. After thorough evaluation, the VA has determined that upgrading the current system is significantly more cost-effective than replacing the entire infrastructure. Alvarez LLC has provided an authorized distributor letter confirming that they are the exclusive provider of Vocera Smart Badges under the NASA SEWP contract.
Authority
This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Vocera Smart Badges are proprietary technology, and Alvarez LLC is the only authorized SDVOSB distributor under NASA SEWP for this brand-name requirement.
Competition
Please note that this is not a competitive solicitation. The VA will not be accepting proposals for this requirement. However, interested vendors may submit capability statements for consideration in future requirements.
