To ensure operational sustainment, Naval Station Newport is required to follow Rhode Island state environmental regulations for water testing. At this point in time, Naval Station Newport does not have the organic capability to perform their own environmental state approved lab testing on site and requires a commercial contract to successfully perform the required services.
