During this natural disaster, sustained winds of 85 miles per hour were recorded, and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a rainfall event that exceeded 30 inches in parts of Puerto Rico. As a result, the weather stations were affected by the winds, and it is necessary to replace them with rugged and more resistant weather stations that can perform a continuous operation and endure extended periods of harsh environmental conditions.
