Description
This is a special notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 "Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions."
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract with Defense Maritime Solutions, Inc. The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 and DFARS 206.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements.
Contractor shall procure one (1) new bow thruster pod. The pod shall be a direct replacement for the current pod configuration. It shall be equipped with all equipment and material for long term storage. Pod shall be a Wartsila Model FT04H, Transverse Thruster, or COR-approved equivalent, and shall be furnished with propeller. Defense Maritime Solutions, Inc is the only known source having the proprietary knowledge and information required to provide this product.
A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE POSTED. The Government intends to proceed with this sole source action. The NAICS code is 336611. The size standard is 1,300 for the NAICS code defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement to the contracting officer before the notice end date. If no affirmative written responses are received by the response due date an award will be made without further notice.
